I am seeing a surge in this disease among young women. Its difficult to know what could be the new reason for this new surge in this old disease. Perhaps more obesity with intake of a lot of junk food in young patient can be potential reason. Another main reason could be related to smoking which is more of trend in young population now. There is genetic reason causing this disease as well.
There is significant mismanagement of this disease and not clear understanding of its psychological impact on patient’s life. Unfortunately due to busy schedule doctors tend not to touch that aspect of the disease and hence patient is left with significant disease burden to bear.
